Spensall Precision Engineering Ltd opened their doors to welcome around 30 decision makers from Yorkshire manufacturing and engineering companies to network, share best practice and enjoy some breakfast at their Leeds facility!

As always the morning began with networking and a brief introduction from all attendees as to who they are, what they do and why they attended. Tony Sitek, Executive Director for Spensall Precision Engineering then went on to lead a presentation focusing on the growth and development the business has gone through since it started 100 years ago.

As they are a business working predominantly in oil and gas Tony chose to be incredibly open and honest about the challenges of the industry. He also divulged some of the wrong decisions he has made during his time there and how they have helped Spensall become who they are today. His piece of advice to the group was that it was ok to make wrong choices as long as you can admit when you have gone wrong so you can fix it. It was a talk that resonated across all the delegates in attendance.

To finish off the morning everyone donned their PPE and headed down to the factory in small groups for a guided tour by some of Spensall’s senior staff. Everyone left knowing exactly what Spensall do, what is happening in the industry, and it gave everyone something to think about and take back to their own businesses.

At the end of the event we sat down with Executive Director Tony Sitek to see what his thoughts were on the morning. He stated “If I were to score it out of 10, I would give it a strong 9. It has actually exceeded my expectations. We’ve had some excellent people visit, the right people, which made it a roaring success. These breakfast events have an important role to play for collaboration, meeting new supply chain, and in some cases new customers. I think today has proved that Made in Yorkshire events are well worth attending.”
